Giant snake is lifted by a crane in shocking moment

This is the incredible moment the 'world's biggest snake' was lifted out of its rainforest home by a digger.

The huge reptile, which is at least 10ft long, was still alive when it was pulled out of the thick foliage in Dominica.

A flabbergasted onlooker can be heard saying 'my mother, what' as the animal rises through the canopy in the footage.

The unbelievable video was shared on social media last week and has been viewed 79 million times on TikTok, the Daily Star reports.

Reddit users speculated that the beast had set a new record for the world's biggest snake.

The viral clip shows the reptile's body locked in the digger's claw, while it still nearly reaches the floor.

The snake's head then slowly slithers back up to the claw before the clip comes to an end.

Workers appear to have come across the huge beast while clearing part of the Dominica rainforest.

Another video shared by the same account, @fakrulazwa, shows rescuers struggling to fit the mammoth creature into the boot of a car.

The snake is so big it takes at least three people to lift it.

And viewers were, unsurprisingly, in absolute awe at the size of the creature.

One claimed it wasn't a snake at all, but "a dinosaur".

"That looks like some world record s**t," another commented.

It is not clear what snake species was shown in the video but the deadly boa constrictor is native to the Caribbean island.

It comes after one of the deadliest snakes in the world was discovered in the UK after crawling into a suitcase from India.

Luckily the reptile was too chilly from its long journey to launch an attack when it was found in Coryton, Essex.

But wildlife officials said the viper was "very agitated and aggressive".

A reptile expert rushed to collect the animal and took it to South Essex Wildlife Hospital after being called out on Friday.

Sue Schwar, manager of the wildlife hospital, said: "It's highly likely that if we didn't pick it up then someone could have died.

"The stonemason was walking around holding it and then when the police said it was dangerous he put it into a box.

"He could have died. I don't know if we have an antivenom in case someone was bitten. He's lucky to be alive."

Saw-scaled vipers are notorious for their quick and vicious attacks - and their venomous bites can cause an excruciating death if not treated quickly.

Sue said: "Your organs will rot. It's not instant death. They are highly aggressive snakes. You won't get away with picking these up - it will bite you.

"Luckily, this snake was less active because it was cold [from being stowed away]."
